Christmas comes early to Gungahlin
Dec 17, 2008
Gungahlin came alive to celebrate Christmas on Saturday (13 December), with the LDA's Christmas in Gungahlin party. The unseasonably cold weather didn't deter families from around the region joining in the fun of jumping castles, swing chairs, a petting zoo, roving Christmas characters, showground food and many other amusements and activities including a grand entrance from Santa.
Marketing manager at the Gungahlin Marketplace Nicole Gibson said the retailers were glad to have the event held in the town centre this year. "Not only does it showcase the retail offer, it creates a unique atmosphere and strengthens our ties with the community," he said. "We look forward to another successful Christmas in Gungahlin in 2009."
The event was hosted by the ACT land Development Agency. Marketing projects Manager Kiki Josifovski said Gungahlin was Canberra's fastest growing town centre and the LDA had relished the opportunity to embrace this and provide a fun filled afternoon in the heart of Gungahlin.
