Gungahlin Tricksters fly high

About 100 BMX enthusiasts jumped on their bike last weekend and completed in the annual Expo 09 competition.

Held at the Gungahlin Skate Park as part of the Youth Expo for Youth Week, young people battled it out with stunts and mid-air tricks as they tried to take out their age category competition.

Gungahlin Youth Centre manager Winnie Thaung said it was a fantastic day. "I think there was probably about 100 BMX people aged between 12 and 25," she said. "They were doing stunts and there was lots of participation."

Back Bone BMX were the organiser's of Saturday's competition. Owner Rhys Williams said this was the forth time they had run the competition for the Gungahlin Youth Expo. "It was a really good day," he said. "Events like this are great so the more the better."
